Player Development

We develop complete athletes – hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunning, and mental approach. Players learn how to practice with intent, compete with composure, and support teammates. Training plans prioritize fundamentals, smart progression, and age-appropriate workloads.

Select Baseball

Our Thunder baseball teams are built for players who are ready for a faster pace, stronger competition, and more structured development. We emphasize fundamentals, baseball IQ, and an approach that helps athletes succeed at the next level—while keeping the game fun and rewarding.

Our Thunder softball teams provide a competitive, confidence-building environment for athletes who want to elevate their game through consistent training and team competition. We focus on fundamentals, fastpitch-specific skill development, and strong culture – so players grow as athletes and leaders.

FAQ

  • What’s the difference between recreational and Thunder?

    Select is more competitive and typically tryout-based, with a larger time/financial commitment and more emphasis on development and higher-level competition. 

  • How are teams formed?

    Teams are formed through evaluations/tryouts, roster needs, and age eligibility, with the goal of placing each player in the best development environment.

  • How often do teams practice?

    Team schedules vary by age and season. We share a season calendar before commitments are finalized.

  • Do you offer guest practices or clinics?

    Yes – families can request an evaluation opportunity when available.

  • What about travel?

    Some events may require local or regional travel depending on age group and season plan.

The Timbergrove Sports Association (TSA) Thunder Baseball & Softball Program is designed for athletes ages 7U–12U who are ready to take their game to the next level through structured training, competitive play, and a positive, high-expectation environment.

AGE DIVISIONS

We offer teams across the following age groups:

  • 7U – 8U: Introduction to select play, fundamentals, and team development
  • 9U – 10U: Skill progression, situational awareness, and increased competition
  • 11U – 12U: Advanced fundamentals, positional development, and game strategy
  • 13U – 14U: High-level training, competitive tournament play, and preparation for upper-level baseball/softball
